Katrin Moye graduated in 1991 with a Joint Honours Degree in English and History of Art from the University of Nottingham and then
between 1999-2000 she undertook a Professional Development Course in Ceramics.
She finds inspiration in traditional country pottery, especially from Eastern Europe, from where her family
originates. Other influences include textiles, vintage clothes and soft furnishings.
Katrin is a multi-award winning ceramicist specialising in highly decorative domestic ceramics using a variety of techniques including paper cut resists,
trailing, sponging, painting and hand-applied coloured slips and underglazes. In 2011 she received a grant from Arts Council England enabling her to
change from production ceramics to more ambitious, one off collectors' pieces plus a new body of work in two dimensions, including watercolour paintings.
Her forthcoming exhibition at the Castle Gallery will feature this new body of work. The earthenware pieces with coloured slips, underglazes and a clear leadless
glaze shown in Galleries 1-8 will form part of the exhibition and will be for sale at the preview from 6.00pm on Friday 1st March, 2013.
Prices range from £25.50 - £435. Please contact the gallery for more information on our reservations policy.
