Sophie Smith studied at Chelsea School of Art and has been exhibiting and selling her ceramics for over ten years.
Lightly grogged clay is pressed into moulds designed to give a distinctive hand-made look to each piece.
Motifs and textures are then cut into the clay and the piece fired three times. A combination of slips, matt
and gloss glazes and gold and platinum lustres are used to create a precious and alluring finish.
