Mychael Barratt was born in Ontario, Canada.
After studying in Canada, Mychael travelled around Europe, finally settling in London in 1984,
where he still lives and works.
Mychael Barratt’s work draws on inspiration from sources as diverse as fairy tales and
Shakespearean dramas to paintings by “Great Masters” and 1960s' pop culture. Of his current work,
Mychael writes: ‘The titles are an integral part of the process, and narrative themes and an irreverent
sense of humour run through all of my paintings and paintings’.
His new work features more cats and dogs from his popular artists' pets series. Other new narrative paintings are set in London.
Original paintings for the exhibition now showing on these gallery pages. Don't forget to take a look at the prints.
