Joseph Davie was born in Glasgow in 1965.
He studied at Glasgow School of Art (1983-87).
He now lives and works in the East of Scotland.
Davie's paintings are strangely bizarre and they sometimes make reference to the literature of Daniel Defoe. He combines a deftness in painting technique with an interest in colour and pattern. His very distinctive work should become highly collectable in years to come.
He has received several commissions including many for street banners, record/CD covers and an album booklet for 'Wet Wet Wet'.
His work is featured in numerous private and public collections including Glasgow Museum of Modern Art, Historic Scotland, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the BBC.
New paintings now live on these gallery pages.
