Tom Mabon

Tom Mabon was born in 1956 in Kirkcaldy.

He now lives and works in Ross-shire.

Tom Mabon's oil paintings, watercolours and etchings demonstrate an accomplished draughtsmanship which is convincing across his broad range of subject matter, which includes portraits, buildings, landscapes and cityscapes.

Throughout his career he has held successful solo exhibitions in Scotland and his work has been purchased for many public and corporate collections including those of the City of Edinburgh, Aberdeen Hospitals Collection, Bass Brewers, Raigmore Hospital Trust and Fleming's Collection in London.

In 2006 he was a finalist for the prestigeous 'Aspect Prize' in London. He has also received other awards including the Hector Memorial Prize, Alexander C Baker Legacy and the Latimer Award and the Morrison Scottish Portrait Award (Commended), both hosted by the Royal Scottish Academy. He was a Major Prize Winner at the 7th Cleveland International Drawing Biennale.
