Katy obtained a BA (Hons) Fine Art with qualified teacher status from the University of West of England, Bristol in 1999.
Since moving to the west coast of Scotland, Katy Spong's paintings and prints have focused on the
moments that nature provides in and around the environment of Cuil Bay.
She says "Nature happens around us all the time, it is getting on with its own business, often
surprising, always unannounced. The unexpected frequently stops me in my tracks and reminds me of
how precious our environment is."
In May 2010 Katy was shortlisted for the Wildlife Artist of the Year Award at the Mall Galleries in London.
