John Brunsdon was born in Cheltenham 1933.
He studied at Cheltenham College of Art (1949-53) and The Royal College of Art (1955-58).
He now lives and works in East Anglia.
With a strong, flowing use of line drawing, his etchings are handcrafted creating very atmospheric landscape prints. He was recently commissioned to produce a suite of Scottish etchings and the resulting imagery takes a refreshingly new approach to such classic scenes as Glencoe, Loch Ness and Ben Nevis.
He has received awards and commissions including those from Christies Contemporary Art (1973 and 1987), the 25th Anniversary Print for Johnson, Johnson and Roy Inc. Dallas, USA and the Council for the Protection of Rural Britain.
His work is featured in numerous private and public collections worldwide including those of The Tate Gallery, Arts Council of Great Britain, Scottish Museum of Modern Art and MOMA, New York.
