Victoria Crowe studied at Kingston School of Art (1961-65) and then gained an MA from the Royal College of Art in 1968.
She now lives and works in Scotland.
Her paintings and hand-made prints reflect her interests and concerns in philosophy, genetics, consciousness of the self, memory echoes and resources of a physical order, which we do not understand. Her work is a poetic and deeply personal response to existence.
She has received awards and commissions including those from the Scottish National Portrait Gallery (RD Lang and Callum MacDonald) and the National Portrait Gallery (Kathleen Raine).
Her work is featured in numerous private and public collections worldwide including those of the National Portrait Gallery London, The Royal Academy and HM the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. She was elected a member of the Royal Scottish Academy in1987.
