Donald Hamilton Fraser was born of Scottish parents in 1929
He studied at St. Martins School of Art, London (1949-1952), after which he received a French Government Scholarship to live and work in Paris. On his return from France, he worked as a visiting tutor at the Royal College of Art from 1957-1983.
He now lives and works in England but is constantly inspired by the Scottish landscape.
His landscape paintings and hand-made prints remain close to their origins whilst forming abstract, dream-like fields of colour.

His work is featured in numerous private and public collections world-wide including those of H.M. The Queen, the British Government Collection, the Smithsonian Institution and Abright-Knox Gallery, Buffalo, New York.
