Robert Greenhalf was born in England.
He studied Art and Design at Eastbourne and Maidstone Colleges of Art.
He now lives and works in Southern England.
His hand-made etchings, drypoints and woodblocks are mainly of wildlife, domestic animals and landscapes. The drypoints and etchings are printed in black and then hand painted using watercolour. His work has a lively spontaneity.
From 1993-1997 Robert Greenhalf was Artist in Residence at the Parc Des Ecrins, France. In 1999 he was commissioned to provide illustrations of birds for the Atlas Of The Invertebrate Of The Parc Des Ecrins.
He has written a book entitled ‘Towards The Sea’. It is an illustrated diary of his work throughout a typical year ( Pica Press,1999).
His work is featured in numerous private and public collections world-wide. In 1981, he was elected a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists, (SWLA).
