Jane Ormes is one of Britain's trendy up and coming artists and
her distintive whimsical screenprints are becoming very collectable.
Jane was born in Bromley in 1964. She graduated with a degree in Surface Pattern and Design and this training
is evident in her current work. Patterns and textures are integral to her designs, as are large areas of bold
colour. Her beautiful prints are individually hand-printed onto 300gsm Somerset satin paper.
Her playful images often involve animals in absurd situations. As part of her working practice she keeps a
notebook in which to jot down unusual names or lyrical phrases which might lead to an image. She is also inspired
by stories and strange situations.
