Bronwen Sleigh

Gallery 1

Bronwen Sleigh was born 1980.

She studied in Cardiff and then gained a BA Hons Design (Illustration) from Glasgow School of Art (2002).

Her work explores the relationship between the natural environment and industrial architecture. Her landscapes incorporate man-made structures such as roads, dams, pylons, oilrigs, wind farms, distilleries and factories.

Her etchings present a fusion of form and subject. The crisp sharp lines of the technical structures are contrasted with a scratchy, pitted etching surface which is reminiscent of marks found on ageing industrial structures.

She won the On Site Drawing Prize at Glasgow School of Art (2002) and the Strathclyde University Purchase Prize (2005). In 2006 she was an Artist in Residence at the Highland Print Studio in Inverness.

Bronwen is now studying for an MA in Printmaking at the Royal College of Art, London and is undoubtedly an emerging talent of the contemporary print world.

Prices range from £215 - £310
