During 2022 and 2023 Iona Leishman created a number of striking paintings en plein air of the Moray coast and woods close to where she lives. A close connection to these special places means she returns time and again in different seasons to fully experience the power of nature. She seeks out places within the landscape that give her a sense of inner excitement led by an interest in composition, form, tone, texture and pattern.
