LaKrista Morton

LaKrista Morton creates pottery in her studio near Inverness. She brings textures and colours into her work which are inspired by moving through and being still in wild places. By working with different wood ashes, oxides, wild clay, and neutral glazes, LaKrista aims to highlight the beauty and simplicity of natural materials. In particular, she is inspired by using local materials that she can trace and process herself. LaKrista trained as a scientist and she brings this methodical approach into her ceramics. She uses systematic methods like tri-axial and line blends to test simple combinations of materials - often using specific sources of wood ash as one of her primary glaze ingredients.
The pieces shown below are indicative of the ranges we stock on a regular basis . Works for sale may vary from images shown as each piece is individually handmade.
