Ian McWhinnie
Ian McWhinnie (b.1952) graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1974. He is a painter and ceramicist working on a range of themes including performers, musicians and travels in France and Italy. His paintings are oil on gesso board and his ceramics vessels are formed from a white earthenware clay which has been hand-painted with under-glaze colours and various oxides and then finished with a transparent glaze. The Castle Gallery has been working closely with Ian for nearly twenty years and mounts regular solo exhibitions.
