Jenny McLaren

Jenny McLaren graduated with a BA in Fine Art from the UHI Millennium Institute, Moray College in 2006. Although she now lives in Edinburgh, she returns frequently to the spectacular scenery of the North West Highlands and the Hebrides where she finds inspiration in the breathtaking views, wildlife and birdlife.

Jenny paints on old maps and repurposed vintage cloth bound book covers, using a clear gesso primer to provide a suitable painting surface for the acrylic inks, gouache and watercolour.  The maps are often bonded onto wood creating a 3D effect and each painting is sealed with UV varnish.
